About the Matrix.
A leadership podcast built around short, focused knowledge pieces on the challenges modern leaders face every day — created by Bernhard Grohs, narrated by Björn Grosso.
Why this podcast exists.
The Premise
Most management content is either too abstract to apply on a Tuesday morning or too tactical to teach you anything new. The Manager's Matrix sits in the middle: short, focused pieces — usually fifteen to twenty-five minutes — that take one real situation a manager faces and walk it down to something you can actually do.
Built for managers in motion — who don't have time for buzzwords, but still want to think hard about the work.
The Host
Bernhard Grohs is a leadership writer based in Vienna. He's been a manager for fifteen years across early-stage startups, consultancies, and product teams. The podcast is the writing he doesn't have time to publish as essays — turned into a format you can listen to on the way to your next 1:1.
The episodes draw on his own day-to-day mistakes, public research from people like the HBR contributors he cites in the show notes, and the kind of frank conversations that usually only happen between trusted peers.
The Voice — Björn Grosso
Each episode is narrated by Björn Grosso, an AI voice cloned and tuned to deliver the material with the warm, cinematic storytelling the format calls for. Björn is not a real person — he's a production choice. The decision was deliberate: an AI narrator lets the show ship two episodes a week without sacrificing the careful writing that goes into each one.
The ideas, the writing, and the editorial judgement are all human. Björn is the read.
How it's Made
Each episode begins as a written script — usually responding to a piece of research, a leadership article, or a moment from the host's week. The draft gets a structural pass for pacing and a line edit for voice, then runs through the production pipeline that generates Björn's read, the cold-open, and the chapter markers. Total turn-around is roughly three to four hours per episode.
